KidsAfrik Soccer Festival: May 8-9
Senegal News: Setting up a Football Club
KidsAfrik founder Chris Monteiro will be in Senegal in March to start the KidsAfrik program. The first stage is to establish a KidsAfrik soccer club in the village of Somon, where we will be hosting a weekend-long First Annual Youth Soccer Tournament. Chris will be taking gifts of soccer uniforms and t-shirts generously donated by the Amherst Youth Soccer Association and local supporters. He will also be meeting with local government authorities and faculty at the University Cheihk Anta Diop, Dakar, to plan for the KidsAfrik Sports, Arts and Technology programs scheduled to begin in 2011.
Two New Youth Soccer Teams: Spring 2010
This Spring KidsAfrik will field two youth teams (U15/16 and U17/18 Boys) in the Pioneer Valley Junior Soccer League. Coach Chris has been working with the U18 squad for two years, taking them to the MTOC (Mass Tournament of Champions) both times. This year, with the cooperation of the Amherst Youth Soccer Association, the teams will play under the KidsAfrik banner, joining the Adult Mens team. For more information, contact Greg Caulton.
